Could use some help from the fine folks on this forum during a time of need. My daughter's 2006 300 (288K miles) touring is having the following: After putting in 14 gallons, the gas guage read 1/2 tank. She later tried to top off tank for road trip, it would only take about a gallon. She then drove 100 miles, tried to get gas to be sure she would have plenty. Pump kept clicking off, and it would not accept gasoline in the filler neck at 2 different gas stations. Drove another 100 miles, gas gauge didn't drop. Upon pulling codes it reads P2068 Fuel Level Sensor B Circuit High. Need to resolve to get her to her grandmother's funeral, and I am 3 hours away from her car.
I am open to experience or insight. I suspect their may be an issue with the venting to the charcoal canister, that make the gasoline pump kick off due to pressure. (Yes we have tried to fuel with low flow, full flow, half flow, pump neck deep, shallow, turned, etc.) Not to worried about gas gauge, I can address that after we get her to and back from the service. Just want her to be able to get gas in her car at a station.
Also wondering if it is a sending unit, but no sure how that would prevent from accepting gasoline into tank.
Grateful for any ideas, and thank you again for help.
