Dead Pedal

Since the dealership had this car for three weeks two weeks after my purchase, I am now forced to confirm any quirks this car has are normal. One of which is a dead pedal at times. It'll feel as though the pedal is not reactive on short, soft pushes, until I give it more gas. Any one else experience this?
