In the midst of my SRT 392 to Hellcat trade, I wondered if I should just swallow and order the HK stereo again, add a sub and call it a day.
Luckily I had the chance to hear the STOCK system in the SRT 392. Honestly, it sounds just about the same as the HK system. It's just as clear and maybe better in the upper miss. It has less bass overall, but that's about it. Nor does it sound as shrill as the HK sometimes does.
So I ordered the stock system and will add a sub/amp. Maybe I'll add a second amp and speakers. I expect the upgrades to be easier vs. trying to modify the more complex HK system and its crossovers.
Cheers,
Robert
