I've been seriously considering a welded diff for a while now on my 06' 300C (5.7). I've done the research and talked to a few local guys regarding it. Usually I get an enthusiastic yes or a resounding no. Despite dailying the car, I am only within 5 minutes to work and keep pretty close to home. The main appeal personally is how cheap a welded diff is compared to a proper LSD. I don't seriously track the car but I do go to events a couple times a year. I'm just looking for something to put more power down and have some fun in the Costco parking lot. :P I only plan on keeping the car another year, so this season I want to do a NFG (no f*%#s given) build. Which means cheap and effective are number one priority and longevity is less important.
Quite a few of the import guys in my area have had it done for years with zero problems (minus the obvious tire wear and chirping). I'll upgrade to 09+ Challenger axels depending on how cheap I can find them. A few threads mentioned guys breaking axels, but I'm not putting down crazy power (custom tune, light bolt ons). Let me know your thoughts.
