Mostly a callage of old stuff but noteworthy nonetheless because of the sprinkling of new here and there. More footage of slippers actually exceeding Mach1 instead of tickling it - which is always cool. At one point you'll here a bystander state "that is half the speed of what it's actually capable of". When you see this segment, along with that idea...it kinda puts things into perspective what real speed might look like. BTW, sound goes away for a minute or two...it's not your machine :^)
Oh ya...those aircraft that are actually exceeding the speed of sound (Mach1), you'll note there is no sound...nothing...until the jet is past your position. Then the first you here is the massive shock wave coming off all the leading edges of everything on the airframe. The closer one is to the aircraft, more powerful the concussion that hits your body and your ears. At 13:30...this is demonstrated beautifully. Notice these Mach1+ maneuvers are occurring always over water or the middle of nowhere...for good reasons. Turn the sound UP :^)
