So I'm posting this for anyone who thinks they might consider the same dopey jump I may be making.
My SRT 392 Charger was 52K.
Dealer will give me 44K as a trade and take the car now. The Hellcat would come in late march or early April. I'd pay 500 below MSRP for the Charger Hellcat and I keep the stereo I added (old stuff goes back in). So that's a clean extra 2K in my pocket, but I lose out on the engine dress stuff I bought.
While waiting for the HC, I save on not having payments again until April of 2016, which is a nice savings since the SRT was going to be put away anyway. So I save another 2K in payments and insurance. In the end, the value of the trade to me is between 46-47K.
The only issue now is my friend has to be 100% certain he can get me the Hellcat...and if I can I will be SRTless for the winter and have a hat full of Hellcat in the spring. We'll see.
(and there's that annoying voice saying that I have a wonderful car in the 392, so why bother? Can someone punch that little voice for me?)
