I just put in an engine(5.7)(new) with a new pan & gasket that I installed. This is the first time I have had a leak! I followed the manual for torquing the bolts, used the dabs of silicone, used a new mopar pan gasket- and the thing is leaking at the front. I thought it might be the damper seal, but it is not, it is coming from the rail at the timing cover-what a pain! Are there any secrets to this? I have replaced pans twice (on trucks-5.7) with no problems. How much of a chore is it to get the pan off in the car? I hate this! The dipstick tube is dry, not leaking there.
