This fall racing season for me has been nothing short of amazing! Medical issues kept me sidelined until early September, but I've certainly made up for it. Car's so consistent, all I had to do was get back into my routine...which didn't take long at all.
A win at the MSHS Fall VMP event was the highlight for sure! Had another win at the Authentic Performance Day at St.Thomas Raceway in October. Headed to ATCO looking for another strong showing in Super Stock, but mother nature had other plans, as ATCO was rained out. Congrats to Bill (slideway) on the season win! Thanks you so much to the MSHS crew, and our great sponsors!!!
So Greg (hemiwagn), and Dave (Token) said they were leaving as soon as the event got cancelled, and heading back home to race at St.Thomas on Sunday. We packed up, said goodbye to as many of our buddies we could find, and hit the road. Got in at 2am, and was headed to the track by 9am.
So we get to ST.Thomas where the DA hovered between -170 to -250 all day into a moderate headwind.
First pass, I nudged my previous PB of 10.86 (from last year's ATCO event) to 10.83 @ 129.
Second pass, Dave lined me up in the glue perfectly resulting in a new PB of 10.72 @ 130 with a 1.53 60'.
The next two passes I noticed I peg legged a bit during the burnouts, resulting in slower 60' running an 11.03, and an 11.04.
Last pass, I made sure I got both tires heated as I needed to back up that 10.72. I did, and ran an 10.77 @ 129 1.56 60'.
There's a slim chance St.Thomas may open again this weekend, and if they do I'll be there again. The mods I had originally had planned for this year at BFNY will now happen next year. Going to run the same 6.1/P1 combo, so I'll remain in Super Stock for one more year in the MSHS Series.
